We're working on a commercial product which is scheduled to launch in Q1 2013. We're very interested in the FQN module. What would it take to make you guys step up the effort? Can we talk privately over this matter?

For the FQN, I think LEDs and chip antenna is not necessary as long as you provide a pin to an external LED, and a uFL connector or an option for a PCB antenna or chip antenna should suffice. That's what other wifi modules such as Gainspan have, and people have come to expect that.

For the current 40-pin form factor, I don't mind it either. As long as you provide the LEDs on the dev board, I think it'll be OK. For the antenna, a uFl connector is best, IMO.

I vote strongly for a chip antenna. That would make the Carambola Nano a nice all-in-one package just like the current one: no need for external stuff. Make the antenna connector optional.

You need to realize that the FQN form factor is meant to be minimal. Otherwise, it'll just be another carambola, which is already available.

Perhaps it is time to continue works on Carambola Nano project

Are there any news releasing the Carambola Nano either AR9331 or RT5350 based ?
Can't wait to get some boards ...
