Good morning (o;

Just received this week my carambola devices ;-)

For a customer demonstration I want to hook up a small temperature sensor via i2c bus.

In make menuconfig I can select the kernel driver, but the i2c-tools are missing for selection.

Something else missing that "i2c-tools" is not listed in make menuconfig?

thanx in advance
richard

No one a clue why it isn't listed as a build option?

It is downloaded under feeds/packages/utils/i2c-tools

That is because the i2c-tools are programms, not kernel modules.
Sure you need the i2c driver kernel module built, but accessing it is of course done outside the kernel in user space (otherwise what good would it be?).
Hence no showing of i2c-tools in make menuconfig (which is only there to configure the kernel build options).

Hope that helps to clear things up.

Hmm..and how do I get it to build?

In make menuconfig under "Utilities" are also listed user programs, so not quiet right what you are saying :-)

II copied over the i2c-tools dir form feeds over to packages and I see then the selection for it...
It also builds the package under "bin/ramips/packages"...but somehow it won't include it in the squashfs.

Can I use then the opkg to install "i2c-tools_3.0.3-1_ramips.ipk" ?

Okay..works that way...

Just wondering why it won't include in the squashfs at the end.
