 carambola2 as 802.11s mesh-point: problems from mac80211?

Hi all

I'm working with a carambola2 configured as a 802.11s mesh point. The board comes up fine and it meshes with the other nodes of a pre-existing mesh netowrk formed by ubiquiti devices. The configuration setup also provides 2 vlans, i.e. two VAPs: one open and the other one secured by WPA. Users can associate with the VAPs built on the carambola2 and they can browse the internet w/out problems.
CPU usage and memory compsumption stay below the safety limits, the board is not overloaded but sadly after a 2-3 hours of operation the board simply stops to work, no signal is transmitted, radio is down: neighboor nodes and users no more see the carambola2. Unfortunately I can't access carabola2 via tty so I'm totally out of the game.

At first glance, the only remark I can make is that mac80211 package is provided as updated to wireless-testing (2013-02-22) while the other nodes of the mesh network work with mac802211 attittude version (2012-09-07) and are solid rocks.
I'm wondering if the problem could be fixed by reverting mac80211 to 2012-09-07 version, any idea or tip? Have you experienced wifi-stop problems (no matter the wireless config)?

Thanks for your comments.

Antonio

or better by replacing mac80211 with its newest (when I'm posting) 2013-06-13 version, since it seems a bit more close to carambola2 openwrt release.

Hi,
any news? Is it working now?
I would like to use some Carambola 2 boards as 802.11s mesh points.

Greetings,
Florian

We're you able to get it to work? aim starting on a project and looking for similar functionality. Appreciate if you can share your findings.

Thanks
