Post subject: | Carambola 2 bricked after firmware upgrade |
Sadly it looks like I have bricked my Carambola 2 (module with board) after having upgraded the OpenWrt fw as described on this thread viewtopic.php?f=6&t=466 . Fw upgrade went through without any issues, but after rebooting the Carambola 2 I couldn't longer log in via serial port. Carambola 2 turns on, at least the ethernet leds remain on, but unfortunately I get no output whatsoever from the usb serial port. How could that have happened? I haven't touched the bootloaded, lets assume I have a bad flash, I should have still be able to access the bootloader, but it's dead instead. I haven't even used it for a week . Is there anything I can do to revive it or is it dead for good? Thanks |

Hi hutorny, thanks for stepping in the conversation. With UART I assume that you are referring to the mini usb serial connector, am I right? Because I have heard the Carambola2 has another UART port, but I have no idea how to locate that one. Unfortunately after the firmware upgrade when I launch picocom -f n -p n -b 115200 -i -r -l /dev/ttyUSB0 with the carambola 2 dev board connected (mini usb to usb) I do not get any output from it. What do you mean with "I assume that you are booting your own build from an tftp/nfs server you have set up" I used a tftpserver to flash the custom firmware on the carambola2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
