i use the carambola2-development board and i really need to free the UART completly.
i read several posts at this board about that topic, however, i' still having trouble with the UART.

Can someone give me a detailed ToDo-List to free up the UART completely.

I need the UART for an other application.
My plan is to communicate with a Pololu SerialToServo-IF, which needs specific pre-defined uart settings. But everything i tried yet doesn´t work.

I commented out '#ttyATH0::askfirst:/bin/ash --login' in "/etc/inittab" and rebooted the system but nothing works. I'm pretty unsure what i have to do with an gpio port described
in viewtopic.php?f=5&t=557 .

I'm thinking about to cut off the JT1 and JT2 jumpers (see schematics). However, i'm also not sure if this is a "good" solution?
I would be very glad if someone can give me hints and explanations, or better, a detailed step-by-step rule about this issue.

The thing is in my '/etc/config/system'-file is no option 'kconloglevel' " to '1'.
Should i add this option? Under which section?

I recommend more flexible and clear way than the serial console ATH0 , to connect ft232 on usb port.

Meanwhile ft2232 gives you 2 UART:
