I would use the GPIO via the sysfs interface. And I'm also want to be notified if the state of the input changes.
My expectation was that I have a file /sys/class/gpio/gpio$(num)/edge where I can write the triggerevent.
But I only get direction, value and uevent. And if I use poll() in my c++ code for the value file the wait point will not be passed.

What did I wrong? Is it not possible to get the interrupt for GPIO on Carambola2?

Try carambola1 instead carambola2.

I'm also interrested in epoll-ing an exported gpio.

I see someone has added IRQ support for gpio pins here:

However, applying this patch does not add the "edge" file for exported gpios. I am a complete noob when it comes to kernel hacking and don't even know where to begin, but still: how much work would it be to make the pins pollable? Say one wanted to integrate this feature, where would they start?

Maybe it has been done already?
