Hello,

after successfully connecting the TSL2561 Digital Luminosity Sensor ( see http://www.adafruit.com/products/439 ) to the Carambola2 Board using the I2C Bus i try to start working with the sensor. The advantage of this specific sensor is that there exists a Arduino library ( see https://learn.adafruit.com/tsl2561/use ) which does the computation of Lux and saves a lot of time doing all the ugly math stuff for you.

So my question is: How can i get this Arduino Library working on Carambola2? I'm completely new to Carambola2 and Sensors at all - what would be the easiest way to achieve this?

Thanks four your answer - i'm into C and python for a couple of years but probably not that lowlevel hardware stuff, perl has been lost over time...

What i plan to do is to control a device according to the measured values - and it was advertised that the already existing library does everything for you and just returns a lux value in an easy way.
The mathematical stuff behind the calculation using the luminosity sensor looks demanding..

What do you exactly mean with "You can use them as reference for Your own programs"? - like reimplementing parts of this library for carambola2?
Its difficult for me to predict if one need to change a few function names or reengineering the whole library - What would you think?

If i understood correctly, i have to do it in a similar way. I will work on this for the next few days/weeks
