I know that there are already a few threads about this topic but none of them seems to give a satisfying answer. My question: How do I use the SPI of the Carambola 2 module in user space? First of all: The Carambola 2 does provide the necessary SPI interface. Because of the reason that the dev-board does even have these pins available on headers does mean to me that I can use them without any problems, just as I would with any other embedded linux platform. Secondly, the wiki does have two articles talking about this. However, they are both for the older Carambola module and are therefore not really helpful as the Carambola 2 does not only have a completely different CPU, but also a different repository where file paths don't match. Could anybody please give tell me what needs to be done to talk to an SPI slave using the Carambola 2? I am aware of the fact that I might need to recompile the kernel with the kmod-spi-dev and such. That is no problem at all. I think that a company who sells such devices who do even put such an interface on the headers of board should be able to write the necessary documentation or at least give some information on what needs to be done. ~ Tectu |

I'd be more than happy to help once I have it running myself. However, I'm going to be on vacation until the 22th of July. I'm hopping really hard that the support is going to show up at soon and help us out here. ~ Tectu |

Hi, I have seen one or two similar solutions to this too, but couldn't find them in short time. It would be nice if you could test it. I will do that too, but probably it won't be anytime soon. |

The version looks good, but the hash is probably not. For now, try using --force-depends option and it should work (for now). If not, I will provide a kernel image. |
