thanks for your effort so far.
I tried compiling with kernel 4.1.6 but it doesn't seem to work.
The 728 patch file is in conflict with 633 - almost the same content but a little different.
I wrote my own patchfile with the content of both.
Its not possible to define your own GPIOS via insmod - so i changed them in your mcp2515-banged.c to my needs.

The command ip link set (you reversed it ) only shows "Cannot find device "can0"".
Do you have any suggestions ?
