Hi,

I'm wondering why operational temperature range is so small. It's 0 - 65C, which is smaller than what electronic parts usually has. Is it somehow related to Wifi calibration, flash storage or something like that? What is the limiting factor on the low and high part of the range?

We would like to have higher range. Maybe if we won't use Wifi interface or some other features of the module, temperature range can be wider?

The operational range is a guarantee that a non-faulty device will operate under these conditions and does not imply that the device won't work outside of them. The operating temperature range of the device is an intersection of all operating temperature ranges of all components. Some components on the Carambola 2 module are limited to max temperature of 65C (which is fairly typical for many components) and others, more specifically the AR9331 chip, have a recommended minimum operating temperature of 0C. Even though it is a consumer grade product, some of our clients use it in industrial applications with no problems. I am wondering under what conditions do you intend to use it?

Our clients, who uses the product with integrated Carambola2, would like to see industrial temperature range in the specifications. It doesn't mean they will use it below 0C, just they might want to have an option. I've got response from 8devices support, that Carambola2 has passed tests from -40 to +85C. Even it doesn't guarantee anything, it's fine for us right now. Thank you for the response.
