Is the ar9331 UART even parity really broken without any workaround available?

Odd and no parity work but setting even parity will just trigger odd parity.

I know this has come up in the past and there are some hints in openwrt mailing lists - but didn't find any solution or workaround or a final confirmation that its really broken beyond repair. The serial driver looks reasonable and seems to be setting the correct flags. Likely a hardware issue.

My issue is that the micro controller I am talking to only supports 8E1 on UART to use its bootloader.

Thanks
Bernd
