Hi

is it possible to work with USB2CAN and carambola?

At a earlier project i developed with some fellow students an android app which receives CAN-Messages from Car via Bluetooth from CAN-Controller. Now we would change it to wifi. My idea is connect the CAN-BUS with USB2CAN to carambola, filtering the messages and send it over wifi to our app. Is this possible? Or i am totally wrong.

BTW new versions of Linux kernel already supports usb2can adapter.

First impression, this is what we need for our project, great thing.
Second upgrade to your project is to stream video too and hear is the second problem.
Carambola only has one usb-port. I read about "Terminus HighSpeed USB HUB" working on carambola.
Will it be possible to stream video and receive/transmitt CAN-Messages simultan?
If so were can i get this HUB, i only found this demoboard pic.

We are using for one commercial project USB hub from Alcormicro AU6350:

I required at Display-Solution for USB-Hub 4 Port DemoBoard and they offered me once for 50€ + sales tax, shipping (about 70€)

Thats much for a USB-Hub. Which of these 3 Hubs i will decide for, thats remains to be seen.

At PC would work 4 USB2CAN converters simultaneous. But how much will be work at Carambola?
At the HUB 3 Ports are extants, one is definitly booked for VideoStreaming.

Thanks Gedass, with one converter working, we can live. Our Bluetooth-Version works also with one CAN.

I tried to install VSCP on Carambola2

But failed installing binaries at Step8-Step13
These packages couldn´t install libwxbase, libwebsockets, libmosquitto-nossl, libmosquitto, libmicrohttpd, vscp.
