Hi, I just purchased the 8devices USB2CAN Converter. The installation of the driver was successful. Now I have a program that can communicate with a CAN interface and operate the devices connected to my CAN. With a different interface this worked successfully using COM5 for that other device. Now I'm looking for the COM-Port number to start the communication with the USB2CAN converter. Operating system is Win-XP SP3. In the device manager I see the USB ressource called "USB2CAN converter", but under the section for the COM and LPT interfaces there is nothing. How to get the USB2CAN converter to build a COM-port? btw. The test application worked successfully. So the HW seems to be OK. Andreas |

Hi, usb2can converter doesn't use USB CDC class so it doesn't have any virtual comports. It use CANAL type interface based on own USB class type. |

Hm, that sounds not good. How to get it to work with the Microsoft Comm Controll (mscomm32)? The program to use it is in Visual Basic 5.0. MS-Comm Control is the only possibility. Andreas |
