Post subject: | Troubleshooting USB2CAN |
Hi there! I’m having some trouble with my USB2CAN device as I can’t seem to get it working using the USB2CAN test application v1.0 and the v1.0.2.1 driver. The software that I’m using is Windows 7 Pro 32bit in a Parallels VM, and my device is on firmware 1.5 according to the test application. Here's a screenshot from the VM: As you can see, I’m able to get the application to connect to the device, (and the device’s light turns green when I do), but I don’t get any messages received when I test it with an Arduino with a CAN bus shield (http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/CAN-BUS_Shield) set to send a CAN message every 100ms at 500kbps. I’m fairly confident the problem is not on the Arduino’s end, as I have successfully tested it with another Arduino w/ CAN Bus Shield and they are able to communicate with each other. If you have any insight as to what I should try next, it would be greatly appreciated! I’m also interested in trying the Linux drivers, but I don’t think they are officially supported? Thanks in advance! |

Hi gedass! Thanks for the quick response I originally had CAN H and CAN L on pins 7 and 3, but have since changed them to pins 2 and 7 upon reading this thread: . This is what my connector looks like: I uploaded a few videos that will hopefully explain how I'm testing the device a bit better: USB2CAN adapter hooked up to car to try and receive CAN messages: Arduino w/ SEEED Shield hooked up to car receiving CAN messages: USB2CAN and Arduino connected via breadboard w/ Arduino sending messages every second: In the last video, note that the light flashes green after the application has connected to the device, and flashes red after trying to send messages. If it helps at all, my car uses 100kbps. Thanks! |
