I would like to port the EtherCAT (
http://www.beckhoff.de,
http://www.etherlab.org) Fieldbus to Carambola.
Compiling the needed packages was no problem.
The fieldbus master works on the native ethernet port of the board.
He tries to access the interface on the kernel network layer.
On arm and of cource x86 plattforms this concept works great.
The fieldbus uses the Ethernet physic to build up a logical serial ring. He sends out a package on tx and recieves the same package on the rx line.
Normally this works also connected to a switch.
On the Carambola I can see that the fieldbus master is sending the frames, the slaves work on the frame, but he does not recieve anything.
- Firewall is disabled
- cat /proc/net/vlan/state gives me no configuration
- swconfig shows me no configuration of the device
I think it will be a problem of understanding the Carambola hardware. It is a RT3052 platform, so the native phy is connected to a switch. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Where is the problem
Thanks for this great plattform
