Post subject:  No way out?

Hi to all,

i don't know why but i decided to upgrade the firmware on my carambola only using serial connection, because i bought a RS232 male cable some weeks before.

While doing the upgrade something went wrong (maybe the cable wasn't the best?). Since then nothing seems to work anymore. Only the power-LED is on. Even if i try to connect via LAN there's no response from carambola :(

Are there any possibilities to get it running? Or is there no way out?

it would be nice if someone can give me an answer to this question, or link me to a similar topic (which i didn't find by using the search).

thx
helme

Hi,
there are 3 ways how to repair your module:

1.restore image using JTAG
2.restore bin image direct to NOR flash memory using programmer
3.order another module

thanks alot for the answer!

But i'm not sure what i sould do right now. I don't want to buy another one, so there are 2 alternatives left..

Can anyone explain me how to restore image using JTAG? Or how to restore bin image direct to NOR flash memory using programmer?

My workingplace is a linux-computer....so maybe there are some nice tools? And whats the way of communication for all these things? And how i can communicate if i'm not able to communicate by using serial cable and picocom?

A lot of questions, sorry, i'm not the smartest guy in this section :)
