At idle with wifi turned off, my board draws 130mA@12v (on the dev board) and is rather warm to the touch. Has anyone played around with dropping the cpu frequency/etc to lower that current? Anybody found a good heatsink too? |

Does the Ralink SoC support power management? Or is there another way to reduce power draw? My Carambola draws a quite constant 275mA @ 3.3V with Wi-Fi on even when it is doing nothing. Edit: Max. power draw seems to be around 360mA when connecting to Carambola via SSH. Enabling power management for wireless using 'iwconfig wlan0 power on' doesn't save anything, as does reducing the transmit power. |

As long as I know, there are no power saving modes. |

That's a pity although 1W is still quite nice. How do we reduce the clock speed? Which settings in the firmware or board resistors are changeable by us? |

ups... for rt3050 (used in Carambola) clock is already 320MHz |
