I am researching how to recreate Arduino Yun from scratch and bought a carambola2 module. But was wondering how compatible is Carambola2 with Linino? Arduino Yun version of OpenWRT.

I thought of the same... Will the Carambola2 run with Linino-Image for the Yun?!? Or is there a simple way to integrate the "Bridge"-Parts from Linino to in the Carambola?

I would be interested too. Has no one tried that?

The linino image can be loaded with some tweaks through uboot. The flash layout is different so sysupgrade doesn't work. GPIO usage is different so some things don't work.

Most software packages work on the carambola2 image if you point opkg to the linino repository. The ones that don't are fairly simple to transfer by compiling in the carambola2 build tree. Python and the linino bridge should work with opkg, they even work on a stock openwrt image.

When running the bridge at 115200 baud i had issues with starting the bridge. The send/recieved values timed out, so the counter didnt get high enough to guarantee sync. So whoever gets to this problem just add a factor of 2 or 3 to "timeout "in the timeRead function in Bridge.cpp.

And don't forget to modify/empty "blink-start" and "blink-stop" in usr/bin as the led is not present!
