According to the wiki page over at OpenWRT all one needs to have uhttpd with lua running
are the uhttpd and the uhttpd-mod-lua package...

When the lua config settings are commented out, the web server starts normal...

But when lua configs are enabled as on the wiki page, uhttpd generates a segmentation fault.

Settings are:

option lua_prefix /lua
option lua_handler /www/test.lua

I can only confirm that this indeed happens. I've created an issue in Carambola2 github page (https://github.com/8devices/carambola2/issues/38). This might be a solution https://lists.openwrt.org/pipermail/ope ... 02408.html. We will test it later with upcoming new firmware version. If you find that this patch indeed fixes the problem please let us know.

Hello

Will try this patch this afternoon....another option would be the mentioned nginx in another thread, which also has built-in lua support...

Lua is needed for a customer project, where thousands of Carambola2 modules will be deployed...
And flash space is a priority issue, therefore Lua is preferred for customer web interface...

Lucy (the default GUI) is based on Lua. Maybe modifying it would help.
