Hello!

I’m thinking of buying the Carambola 2 module. But have some questions, and if someone know the answer to them it would be great.

Does it support audio in? Through I2S or SPDIF? (In the datasheet it only says I2S and SPDIF which often unfortunately is only for output.)

Regards
Magnus

Carambola 2 SoC (AR9331) has I2S input lines, however there is no fully functional driver. Up to this point some users have modified existing drivers to support I2S output (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=858). Some work is required to support I2S input.

Magnus, I have come across a driver (https://github.com/sonnyyu/ar9331-i2s-alsa) that may support I2S input. I haven't tested it, but it looks promising.

Great, than I can test these drivers. If I have something to start with I think I’ll make it.

My week part is the hardware… you or anyone else perhaps know any audio input chip/module that fits the I2S on the Carambola 2? From analog and PCM audio input.

Also, when do you expect the Carambola “ be back in stock?

Regards
Magnus
