Hello everyone,
I am just playing around with the carambola2 - fantastic device. I am thinking about using it in one of our projects. For this I have to make the serial console silent. I compiled the modified u-boot from pepe2k (also fantastic work!) with the silent-option.
It works all fine, but I mentioned that there is very often one or two "garbage chars" before the u-boot boot-message. This appears with the original u-boot (!) and also with my self-compiled ones.
Please take a look at the attached screenshots. What´s the reason for this? Can I suppress this in any way?
Thanks, Sebastian

This is a problem with the older serial driver that is used in older bootloader. The new Caraboot bootloader doesn't have this problem, however I'm not quite sure if pepe2k silent mod will work with it.

I think so. Maybe you can answer if (and how) it can be silenced.

What bootloader version are you using? We did not see any trash bytes with the new Caraboot bootloader.
