8devices is dedicated to implementing continuous improvement strategies even after a product has been launched into the market. As a result, it may become necessary for us to modify, update, or terminate the product or manufacturing process to achieve optimal outcomes.
8devices complies with the J-STD-046 standard and guarantees the issuance of timely notification of major changes that could potentially impact the product’s form, fit, or function, as well as its quality or reliability. Our policy aligns with industry standards, providing our customers with adequate notice and sufficient time to make necessary adjustments.
End of Life (EOL) notice procedures
8devices will send customers EOL notices for any product that 8devices is planning to discontinue. EOL products will no longer be stocked in our warehouse and orders for them will no longer be accepted after the EOL date. Technical support for these products may also end on or at any point after the final EOL date. Final firmware builds will still be available for EOL products but no additional releases will be made after the EOL date.
Customers will be notified a minimum of 180 days before the scheduled EOL date. Included in this 180-day review period is the time necessary for an authorized distributor to forward the EOL notice to its customers of the affected product.
8devices will make their best effort to adhere to this 180-day notification period but shorter notification periods may occur due to circumstances outside of 8devices’ control.
Product/Process Change Notification procedures
8devices will send customers PCN notifications when we have planned changes to a product or process that could potentially impact the product’s form, fit, or function, as well as its quality or reliability. In these cases, we will do our best to describe the changes and their impact and to inform customers of the date on which those changes will take effect.
Customers will be notified a minimum of 90 days before the proposed first ship date of the product identified in the PCN. Included in the 90 day review period is the time necessary for an authorized distributor to forward the notice to its customers of the affected product.
Customers should acknowledge receipt of the PCN within 30 days of delivery of the PCN. Any concerns, sample order response, or a request for further information should be provided within the acknowledgement period. If additional time is required to determine if samples or additional data is required, the customer must submit this request along with the acknowledgement response and state when they expect to complete their review. Lack of acknowledgement of the PCN within 30 days constitutes acceptance of the change.
